Individuals, Youth, Adolescents & Families
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and educational leader with more than 30 years of experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and families. My career has been dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and discover pathways to personal growth and success.
My professional journey began in education with Seattle Public Schools, where I taught high school health, wellness, psychology, and International Baccalaureate courses. In 2000, I earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and worked as a clinician with the Child and Family Clinical Team at Community Psychiatric Clinic in Seattle. Since then, I have served in both clinical and educational leadership roles, providing comprehensive support to students, families, and communities.
My counseling approach is collaborative, compassionate, and strength based. I integrate evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop healthier thought patterns, improve emotional regulation,
and build effective coping skills. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel understood, valued, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. I truly believe that restoration is possible in all situations and have a positive and open approach towards finding that outcome.
I have extensive experience working with:
-
Anxiety and stress-related concerns
-
Depression and mood disorders
-
ADHD and neurodiversity
-
School, career, and life transitions
-
Trauma recovery
-
Self-esteem and body image concerns
-
Self-harm prevention and recovery
-
Relationship conflict and family challenges – Parenting Teens Successfully
-
Executive functioning, organization, and time management
-
Social-emotional skill development
My passion is empowering individuals (especially teens and young adults) to recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and create lasting positive changes. Whether you are navigating a difficult transition, managing emotional challenges, or seeking greater self-understanding, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals and thrive. I am particularly adept at assisting teens or parents of teens with the challenges presented in Middle and High School. My personal faith supports my own wellness and work, and I have a deep respect for supporting others in their spiritual growth as desired.
