Chaos, conflict, loss, and abuse are part of our everyday lives. They lead to pain, dissatisfaction, discouragement, heartache and can also lead to destructive behaviors. When life leads to times of trouble, I invite you to step into them with someone who can come along side you. You need a refuge where you are not alone? I am inviting you to a relational place where the truth can be told in confidence, new perspectives can be discovered, and new hope can grow.

Are you hoping that therapy could help?... a bit uncertain?... a bit afraid? I can appreciate this tension. If this is where you are, then you are in the right place; it’s a good place to start. On many occasions, I have seen rewarding change occur in the context of therapy. But therapy is most effective when it is neither made out to be a cure nor rejected as useless. So if you have some degree of hope and some degree of trepidation you have the ingredients that can make it valuable to you.

Specialties:
I am a Licensed Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (AUS, 2009) and a Masters in Christian Counseling (CCU, 1997). I have therapeutic experience working with individuals, couples, and therapy groups. Throughout the years I have been a witness to the process and believe in the possibility of change. I am committed to providing competent, compassionate, and change-oriented therapy services for personal, relational, and spiritual growth. I work with several different kinds of issues, including:

  • Relationship issues and issues of abuse in intimate relationships
  • Grief and depression
  • Debilitating anxieties and fears
  • Obsessions, compulsions, and addictions
  • Overwhelming emotions
  • Christian spiritual conflicts and struggles.

Therapeutic Approach:
From my perspective, the value of therapy is primarily relational, which means it is far more than an educational, intellectual, or emotional experience. It involves connecting with being human, relational, and spiritual. I am motivated toward helping people step into their life struggles with the hope of finding a more meaningful and rewarding way of life. Through a variety of conversations, the time we spend in therapy will inevitably be a struggle with two questions:

  • In a personal way, what does it mean to be human with all of life’s complexities?
  • In the midst of your current struggles, how then do you want to live?

I believe that in life, change is not only possible, it is inevitable. Through the process of therapy we will strive together to find new ways of living.
