Marie Hoddevik, MA, LHMC
Therapist
Issues of abuse Trauma, Depression, Healing through narrative, Lifespan Integration
LMHC: Marie obtained her MA in Counseling from Mars Hill Graduate School in 2004.
With specialized training in domestic violence, Marie has counseled both female victims and perpetrators of abuse. She has extensive experience working with issues surrounding physical, emotional, spiritual and sexual abuse; depression, anxiety, and relational problems.
Marie primarily works from a relational style of therapy, drawing upon psycho-dynamic and existential, family of origin, and didactic resources. She believes that the sources of our greatest joy/fears and deepest pain/desires are rooted in relational issues.
Marie views the counseling process as an alliance through which a safe place is provided to explore how our style of relating interferes with experiencing a full and meaningful life. Hope is offered as the roots of these issues come to light, creating the possibility for healing to begin its work.
In her free time, Marie enjoys hiking in the mountains of the Northwest and Norway, reading, baking, classical music and spending time with her 10 grandchildren, family and friends.
